Ryan Pistorius
Research Fellow | Coordinator
J.D. Candidate, 2021
Ryan Pistorius has served as Research Coordinator for Professor Oguamanam, as well as Project Manager of ABS Canada, since January 2019. Ryan is a passionate advocate; he is a former world champion in public speaking, placed first (both individually and with his team) in the first-year Nelligan moot at the University of Ottawa, and is currently participating in the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot.
As a first-generation Canadian, Ryan has long been interested in international law, an interest which brought him to Ottawa and prompted him to pursue a J.D. with an Option in International Law. He previously completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at Queen’s University, where he participated in an archaeological excavation in the Republic of North Macedonia (then FYROM) and worked extensively in the student discipline system. Ryan has continued to serve in student government at the University of Ottawa as Vice-President (English) of the Common Law Student Society. He also serves as an editor at the Ottawa Law Review, and in his free time he co-hosts a podcast called The Law School Show.
